Caring for children age 6 weeks through 6 years.
Young Infant (6 weeks – 12 months) ratio 3:1

Little Treasures’ infant teachers are professionals who love working with the littlest Treasures. Your infant takes a lead roll in this program. Our infant questionnaire, filled out by mom or dad, gives our staff information about your infant’s feeding and sleep schedules as well as his likes and dislikes.

A primary caregiver will adapt to your infants schedule to keep him well rested, nurtured and loved. Throughout the day your infant’s primary caregiver will provide opportunities to develop your child’s skills.

Mobile Infants (12 months – 17 months) ratio 3:1

At this later stage of infancy, babies are very mobile crawling and walking, climbing over and under, putting things in and out of containers and making new sounds and beginning words. It’s a fascination age and our lead teacher is focused on your child’s developmental needs at this crucial stage.

There is a basic schedule that is followed which provides your busy infants with the proper nutrition, rest, language, sensory and physical activities that they need to develop. Basic sign language is used to introduce new words and facilitate their language development.

Nursery (18 months – 27 months) ratio 5:1

These are busy times for our toddlers. Not only will your child be working on his skills like walking, climbing and running but he will also be adding words to their speech development and will continue to increase his ability to tell you what he needs or wants. At Little Treasures Learning Center, our toddler teachers will work with this age group in large and small group activities. In large group activities toddlers are exposed to music, stories, exercise and dramatic play. In small group activities toddlers are exposed to art, sensory materials, puzzles, and language and math concepts.

Pre-Three (27 months – 3 years) ratio 7:1

There is a large increase in the amount of verbal communication and comprehension in this stage. It is important to nurture this growth. Here at Little Treasures Learning Center we do this through activities that allow your child to experience and explore her environment and express herself.

Math concepts such as counting, matching and learning shapes and colors are included in the weekly activities. Dramatic play areas allow for role playing to take place. Music instruction from an outside music professional as well as daily songs and dance activities help children develop an appreciation for dance and music. Daily art activities help to introduce children to different materials and ideas.

PreK-3, PreK-4 (3-5) ratio 10:1

The Preschool stage is most crucial to providing a strong foundation for future learning. We provide our preschool students an enriched environment filled with developmentally appropriate activities.

To promote social and emotional growth preschoolers are encouraged to make independent decisions, explore and experiment different materials and participate in activities which help them empathize with feelings of others and express themselves to their teachers and peers. The preschool curriculum also includes language and literacy, mathematics, science, and physical development as well as weekly ComputerExplorers instructions and a music enrichment class.

Kindergarten (5) ratio 13:1

Kindergarteners receive group instruction as well as individual instruction with our hands on approach to learning. Little Treasures uses the research proven curriculum of Pearson Learning's "Good Habits Great Readers" which incorporates a shared as well as a guided reading approach to teach language and literacy. We have also adopted their mathematics curriculum  "Big Math for Little Kids" which takes our students through 6 fun mathematical units. At Little Treasues Learning Center, kindergarten children are exposed to a variety of activities which develop them socially, physically and academically. Our full day kindergarten program allows children to learn about their community through field trips and special visitors. Kindergarteners also have ample time to play and socialize during indoor center time and outside plaly time. During center time kindergarteners are able to make choices on what they prefer to do. Whether it be taking their friends' orders in a restaurant or building a castle along side their classmates, kindergarteners have fun while learning. Our kindergarten program includes enrichment classes through Musically Yours and Computer Explorers which reviews and builds on the concepts taught in our preschool program through fun and hands on activities.
